Our Hotel – Santorini

After arriving to Greece one day later than expected (due to an important meeting in Graz) Zorana and I spent the first night at Alti Suites which is located in Megalochori. Zorana actually arrived a day earlier and spent the night in Athens, which I sadly did not visit :( (But I will in August for sure!) Anyways, we were too excited to finally check into our hotel Astarte Suites (located in Akrotiri, in a very private area) the following day, as we have decided do stay there before we actually booked our flights. When I did my hotel research on the net, this hotel caught my eye immediately and we HAD do book it! George (the manager), his brother and his lovely mother showed us incredible hospitality.. which means: even though I have been hours away from Austria, I felt totally at home. Astarte is a family owned hotel with a total of 11 beautiful suites. (2 additional private suites with infinity pools are in the making as well.) Each morning we received an amazing breakfast at our private balcony and enjoyed it with an incredible ocean view. During the day we have been relaxing by the pool (Santorini is known for the lack of beaches: there are a few beautiful small red and black beaches in some areas, which we did not visit tho). In the evening we went either to Oía or Fira and explored the streets, dined in traditional restaurants and went for shopping. Greece has also some amazing local designer stores!!! Impressive!
